Hello Everyone,
I have been having a wonderful time with the response to “Coming Full Circle”, and have been enjoying, so much, the book signings and events I’ve recently been engaged in. Our book signings in San Francisco and Dallas were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing many of you and speaking with you. I am at work now on a new book…..and feel so very thankful to be able to share the Sisterhood’s teachings, and to share with you many of these extraordinary women who I have not written about before.
I would also like all of you to know that my daughter, Vanessa, and I, are so very grateful to all of you for your kind words, wishes, and cards on behalf of Vanessa’s recent loss. Vanessa is doing better now, and we have felt so loved and supported during this difficult time.
The Sisterhood and I send you all a tremendous amount of love and light. I have been working with them nightly in my dreaming, and I also visit with them from time to time. This year we will be together in Santa Fe in early summer. I am working on teachings about what is your promise to yourself and how do you keep it. It is very exciting to continue learning and growing with you. There is so much personal resistance to what is new – remember that there is freedom and joy sitting beside you at this moment waiting for your acceptance.
We all want you to know that even as strange and as frightening as some of our world news may seem, we are feeling the results of the new energies of 2012, which can be very intense. There is great hope, and we want you to remember that we are all working together to create balance and harmony on Earth, with the Divine Male and the Divine Female energies in equal measures with one another.
Speaking of Divine Feminine Energy, I would like to tell you about one of my dearest friends and teachers in the Sisterhood, Winona. Winona is a woman of Polynesian heritage. She is beautiful, fierce and tattooed like many warriors of ancient times, and her soul is illumined with Beauty. She is an incredible painter, an artist who paints with Spirit and manifests the essence of her very soul onto canvas.
One day we were coming back from the beach, and as I helped her put away groceries in her small, plantation style home, hidden almost totally under a thicket of trees, I happened to see a wall in her living room covered with a tremendous painting. It was like a mural, in a sense, because it conveyed the story of the Hawaiian people themselves.
“I painted this painting. It is a shaman painting, a painting from the sacred people of Hawaii, in honor of them.” Winona said to me.
I then traced the colors in my mind, seeing the configurations and the energy of this painting in my mind, in my heart. I felt moved by it. Finally, I said, “I love art. I have followed art and great painters all of my life.” “Even as a little girl, my mother would read me stories of great artists and composers. I remember the story of Picasso. It was very interesting to me. He was quite a genius in this time, but I’ve never been able to relate to his paintings.”
Winona looked at me with a smile and grabbed a piece of butcher paper and some crayons. She drew a painting with cubes and a figure sitting near a pond, much like the painting on her wall. When she was finished, she said, “You know, these cubical drawings are like Picasso, but different paintings are different from one another because of the painter.”
By now, Winona and I were sitting on the floor, looking at her painting on the wall. I couldn’t help but touch this shaman picture with my fingers, tracing the lines and appreciating the essence of this special work of art. “I knew Picasso’s partner, Francoise Gilot, She did some interesting paintings. She called them ‘Shamanic Wandering’ paintings. They were of the elementals, the spirits that inhabit natural places and plants, rocks, and the elements. As I look at your picture, Winona, I can see that Francoise’s vision was a bridge between the kind of shaman painting you have on your wall, and the cubistic style on the butcher paper.”
“The teachers like Klee and Picasso were scientists,” I continued, “They were not shamans, teachers of wisdom, whatever you want to call us.”
As Winona got up to get lemonade from her refrigerator, she said, “You know Lynn, we are people who live in the world of the soul.”
She then took me into another room, filled with kachina dolls. “Sit down a minute and look at these beings. If you close your eyes just a little, you will see them dance before you. They are dancers, they are the essence of a form.” Winona continued to say, “A good artist portrays the spirit of a thunder being, for example, in a way that can be understood by anyone who looks at it.”
“I’m not sure I understand what you mean.”
“Well, Lynn, look at it this way, if you were cooking something on a stove, and you were to see steam rising from the food you were cooking, the steam is the essence of the food, not the food itself. It is like the kachina dolls, they are the essence of the form, not the form itself. If you have a wolf kachina, it is the spirit or essence of the wolf, not the wolf itself.” She said.
“Your painting, Winona, is the essence of you and the beauty and magic you are.” I said, as we linked arms and walked out onto the lanai, or porch, to watch the sunset through the trees, into the ocean below.
Illumination, Essence, Art, Beauty, Creativity……what do these words mean to you? Do you feel them in your life? We are not all painters or composers, but we are all part of the essence of our forms, our divine light that is part of Great Spirit, the Universe, and all living things. Mother Earth’s essence is something we feel everyday when we see plants that bring us beauty and nourishment.
Our energies correspond to a balance of male and female. Many great artists took what was receptive inside of them, and then expressed it outward in the world by creating something. That is a part of the divine balance of energies, working together to manifest something magical outside of oneself.

Working with these cards daily is a way of learning more about yourself, and it helps you to build your own sense of self-worth. At the very least, it is a way to support you in your everyday life with a word, a beautiful painting, and a concept you can meditate on directly.
Art illuminates us. Nature illuminates our souls when we are open to it. And that is the key, to begin to shift with these light waves of energy in 2012, we must be open to the beauty of creativity, to be illuminated means to be full of light. We ARE light. We are, each and every one of us, the essence of Divine Spirit.

Prayer for the Afternoon Muses
So often in the afternoon, I become restless, Great Spirit.
So I have learned, thanks to your wisdom, Great Spirit, to create in the afternoon.
I have learned that the afternoon is the perfect time to learn something new, So, I thank you for this most sacred of times. When the sun becomes lower in the sky, I begin to paint. I sit with a pad and a pen, and I begin to write. I feel the muses waking up from their slumber as they look over my shoulder, Fascinated to see what I am creating.
Inspiration so often does not visit you, unless you are performing your art.
If you wish to create a work of art, begin to paint, and the inspiration will come.
If you wish to write something inspiring, sit down and begin, and the muses will come. They will join you in your effort and lend you strength and ideas. It is the spirit of the afternoon that comes close and comforts you. It wants you, this afternoon being, to be at ease.
Turn the phone off. Drink something that pleases you. Find yourself a special natural setting where the little people can join you, and the etheric beings of the trees can lend you their sparkle.
Afternoon is a time of gathering and expression. It is a good time to pray!
