Continuing Education Information
Course Description:
A basic concern of professionals is spiritual well being and its contribution to health. Integrative practitioners recognize the mind-body-spirit connection and believe that illness is directly related to attitudes, beliefs and emotions. We put enormous stress on ourselves as we strive to attain more and more physical possessions that we “must have.” We also have cultural beliefs that tell us we don’t deserve an abundant life. The challenge is to learn how to balance our spirit with the physical world. When stress occurs, a client’s energy field is disrupted leading to strong emotional and physical responses. Drumming creates a link between the mind, body and spirit and is used as an alternative tool to restore balance. We will explore alternative methods of approaching stress, with a discussion on incorporating these ideas into one’s practice.
