Continuing Education Information

Course Description:
A basic concern of professionals is spiritual well being and its contribution to health. Integrative practitioners recognize the mind-body-spirit connection and believe that illness is directly related to attitudes, beliefs and emotions. When stress occurs, a client’s energy field is disrupted leading to strong emotional and physical responses. We explore alternative methods of approaching stress, and discuss techniques for incorporating these ideas into every day practice. Connecting with personal creativity by utilizing techniques such as guided meditation, representational art, visioning for future outcomes, and ceremony are spiritual practices which can reduce physical and mental stress. Creation of art projects can serve to manifest feelings into form to balance mind and spirit in the physical world.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this online course in alternative practices, participants will be able to:
1.   Discuss the use of meditation, representational art, visioning , and ceremony as tools for exploring beliefs  and attitudes to reduce stress and achieve behavioral changes.
2.   Discuss at least one method of working with a client’s energy system.
3.   Discuss ways of incorporating these procedures into their professional practice.
