We want to provide you with the following information so you can better prepare yourself for the wonderful experience awaiting you!

Event Fee, Lodging & Meals

SINGLE ROOMS LIMITED - 0 available

  • Single Room: 4 nights lodging, Event Fee and meal package is $1559. (One person in a room)
  • Depending on when you register, the monthly payment will be divided by the number of remaining months left before 8/6/24. 
  • Please email lapregistrar@gmail.com if you would like a single room.  If one becomes available we will let you know.

    DOUBLE ROOMS COSTS ARE PER PERSON 

    • Double Room: 4 nights lodging, Event Fee and meal package is $1400 per person. (Two people in a room)
    • Payments begin when you register and end on 8/6/25. Depending on when you register, the monthly payment will be divided by the number of remaining months left before 8/6/25. 

    Rates include, Event Fee, Lodging, and the following Meal Package:

    Dinner on Wednesday, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Thursday, Friday & Saturday and Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday.

    On your registration form, you will be able to request your meal preference and whether you have any food allergies.

    PLEASE NOTE

    You may arrive on Tuesday, October 14th, if we have availability.  This is not included in the rates shown above.

    Or if you want stay over on Sunday night, October 19th, if we have availability. (The rate will include dinner) to observe the beautiful Initiation ceremony of the fourth year apprentices.  This will be added this to your invoice.


      REGISTRATION DETAILS

      Please register for the Storm Eagle Training event right away even if you are not ready to pay the deposit, so that we may plan properly. 

      You will receive an invoice based on your arrival and departure dates.  

      Payment Plans - Depending on when you register, the monthly payment will be divided by the number of remaining months left before 8/6/25.

      The event includes Event fee, Lodging and "Meal Package". The "Meal Package" includes Dinner on Wednesday, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday.

      You may arrive on Tuesday, October 14th and your first meal will be dinner, this will be added to the invoice. (If we have enough lodging available).

      No Single Rooms are available at this time.

      Single Room: 4 nights lodging, Event Fee and meal package is $1559.

      Double Room: 4 nights lodging, Event Fee and meal package is $1400 per person.

      We have reserved the Yackel Lodge.

      On the registration page, if you are sharing a room with someone, please place their name in the field named “Roommate.” If you do not have a roommate, select I am staying in a double room and need a roommate.

      Please indicate Meat ok, Vegan, Vegetarian and allergies, i.e., Gluten Free on the registration page.

      The Chef can accommodate most allergies or requests, i.e., vegetarian, vegan, GF etc.  There may be a small up charge.

      Check-in time on day of arrival is 3:00 PM. and checkout time on day of departure is 10:00 AM. (You will bring your luggage to the Meeting room on the at 9:00 AM on the day of of departure.)

      REMINDER: Fires are not allowed on site. Due to drought conditions and the extreme risk of fire, burning of candles or incense ANYWHERE on campus is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply may cause the incurrence of a $500 fine.  Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms. Please do not light candles, smudge, or use incense in any rooms, including the main meeting room. We suggest battery powered tea lights as an appropriate substitute.

      Spirit in the Desert requires:

      1. Meal times are: Breakfast 8:00 AM, Lunch Noon, Dinner 6:00 PM.
      2. Food and Beverages are allowed in approved areas only. Fees will be charged if carpets are stained.
      3. No Smoking Campus - $250 fee per incident will be added.
      4. In the event of a fire alarm, vacate premises immediately.
      5. Enjoy the year round heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
      6. Pool and Spa waivers are required for all children under the age of 18.
      7. Certified Service Animals only are allowed on campus.
      8. KEY Policy: Lodging room keys are given out to guests at the front desk. When you check out place your room key in bowl at front desk.  If all keys are not turned in at the end of the event, a $10 replacement fee will be assessed per incident.
      9. Spirit in the Desert is not responsible for lost items.
      10. Please observe any current guidelines for COVID at Spirit in the Desert.  Be prepared to wear a mask and observe social distancing of 6 ft if required. 
      11. Please be aware that other spiritual retreats may be occurring at simultaneously.  Please do not interfere with such other retreats.
      12. Be sure to fill out the online registration information EVEN if you have already paid for the event fee. Filling out the registration form lets us know you are still attending, have received the registration information, and signed off on the event disclaimer for insurance purposes.
      13. When filling out the registration form, there are mandatory fields on the registration page marked with an asterisk*. If you select “submit” at the end of the form and nothing happens, scroll up, using the scroll bar on the right side of the page. Any mandatory field that hasn’t been filled in will be highlighted. Complete each one, and then scroll down to the bottom and select “Submit.”
      14. Refund Policy for Event & Lodging & Meal package: A refund will be issued if request is received by August 1, 2025.  If a cancellation is needed you will receive a refund minus $200.   
      15. The event ends at on Sunday after lunch.

      The Kindred Spirits Gathering will immediately follow this event.  Fourth year apprentices that are eligible to walk under the Elk Skin at Storm Eagle can register for the KSG event.

      All apprentices are allowed to attend the beautiful Initiation ceremony on Sunday evening.  The rate will include dinner on Sunday night. You would depart on Monday.  You can meet some of the Kindred Spirits at this ceremony!

           Transportation Options to the Spirit in the Desert:

          Spirit in the Desert is located on over 7 scenic acres in Carefree, Arizona, USA, nestled in the foothills of the High Sonoran Desert. The retreat center is approximately 45 minutes north of Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix and 30 minutes north of downtown Scottsdale, Arizona.

          • Transportation options to/from Spirit in the Desert to Sky Harbor Phoenix Airport – or – Gateway Mesa Airport Spirit in the Desert does not have a transportation system.
          • If you are flying in and not renting a car, we have some selections for transport to/from the airports that our guests have used.  Always remember to confirm any online reservation by phone and email!   
          • Blue Van Shuttle  1-833-425-8382 www.newbluevan.com Offers safe and reliable airport transportation and shuttle service.  Please book 24 hours in advance and online for best rate.  $47.25 1 person rate to airport.

Must be made several days in advance for this service. Booking online is easy. Takes all credit cards. As always, call to confirm any online reservations.

Allow about 15 minutes at the airport for it to arrive for last-minute calls. Our experience so far with reservations is on time--always confirm if you do this in advance.           • RENTAL CARS: Phoenix Sky Harbor airport has every rental car company available.
          • At Gateway-Mesa Airport, the current companies available are: National, Alamo, and Enterprise. This airport is 1-1/2 hours from our center and that is on a good day with little traffic.  Make sure to reserve early Nov – April is very busy and economy cars go very quickly. If you want to rent a car for a day or two in Carefree,  Enterprise has a local office. Call their local number which is (480) 575-6527.

          Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center welcomes all people to experience the pure beauty of God’s creation in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. The sunsets are breathtaking and the sunrises are announced by the calls of the Cactus Wren and Gambel’s Quail. The gardens around the facilities on the nine-acre campus are filled with natural plants, trees, and many species of Sonoran Desert cacti. At an altitude of 2,580 feet the campus is somewhat cooler than the Phoenix metro area, especially in the glorious evening and early morning hours.

          When you arrive, you will be warmly greeted by a people-centered staff who will orient you to your surroundings. All bedrooms have private bathrooms, a patio or balcony, most with spectacular mountain views. Experienced chefs serve homemade, healthy meals. A year round heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi are available for guests’ enjoyment and relaxation. Meeting rooms with WiFi and AV support are provided for a successful meeting or retreat.

          Training will begin in the morning. continuing into the evening with breaks every few hours.

          Please note Check out is at 10:00 am, however Storm Eagle Training starts at 9:00 am on Sunday.




           
          PLEASE NOTE:

          The Kindred Spirits Gathering will immediately follow this event.  The fourth year apprentices that are able to walk under the Elk Skin at Storm Eagle can stay at Spirit in the Desert and go through the beautiful Initiation ceremony on Sunday evening. 



          All other apprentices are invited to attend the Initiation ceremony on Sunday evening.  You would depart on Monday.
            

          Supplies Needed

           

          Here is a list of the items you will need to bring. All Apprentices please bring the following and then additionally bring those things specific for your year.

          ALL YEARS OF THE SCHOOL:

          • Bring a small stone, crystal or shell that can hide in the palm of your hand when your hand is closed
          • Four daily wheel pages
          • A notebook and pen for taking notes
          • Please bring a copy of all of your Task Completion Sheets.

          FIRST YEAR APPRENTICES: If you are a First Year Apprentice, please bring:

          • Your School Notebook (Optional)
          • Your Great Mother Energy Fetish
          • Your Heyoka Fetish
          • Your Heartline Spiral
          • Your Four Winds Collage
          • Your Beauty Wind Kachina
          SECOND YEAR APPRENTICES: If you are a Second Year Apprentice, please bring:
          • Your School Notebook (Optional)
          • Your Rattle, Drum and Talking stick
          • 3 Crystals: 1 each male, female and neutral
          • Your Shaman Stone(s)
          • The Prayer Sticks you have made this year
          • Your Altar Cloth
          • Additionally, we will be reviewing the use of your sacred tools, so please bring any rattles, drums, stones and crystals that you use in your work.

          Note to Second Year Apprentices* If you have not yet made or specifically awakened a rattle, drum or crystals as a sacred tool, please bring ones that you can use. Your Mentors will be providing hands on teaching on how to use these tools, and you will want to be able to fully participate. If you are still not sure about whether a crystal is male, female or neutral, bring some anyway so you can use them and find out more about them.

          THIRD YEAR APPRENTICES: If you are a Third Year Apprentice, please bring:

          • Your School Notebook (Optional)
          • Your Marriage Basket
          • A long sash in your favorite color, at least three inches wide. It should be long enough to tie around your waist and then add one yard. It could be a wide ribbon or a very long and extremely thin piece of light weight material. Remember, you will need to tie several knots in it.
          • A small bell that you can wear to call your Spirit Mate
          • An outfit for your marriage ceremony in which you feel very powerful
          Fourth YEAR APPRENTICES: If you are a Fourth Year Apprentice, please bring:
          • Your School Notebook (Optional)
          • A Notebook containing samples of your work that will be reviewed while at this event.
          • Your sacred pipe and tobacco.
          • A copy of your letter of intent.
          • Additionally, we will be reviewing the use of your sacred tools, so please bring any rattles, drums, stones and crystals that you use in your work.

          ALL APPRENTICES: In preparation for Storm Eagle, please review the audio files you have been sent this year, some of these are lectures by Lynn from a previous Storm Eagle training. Please listen to these audios several times before coming to the training and be prepared to discuss their content and ask any questions you may have about them. 

           

          What NOT To Bring

          Please leave valuables at home. No pets are allowed. Please honor Lynn’s wishes not to tape record or photograph any of the sessions or ceremonies of the event. You may take personal photographs outside of the sessions, of course. Fires are not allowed on site without a permit. Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms.
